An existing Client wanted to maintain the integrity of the unique Queenslander but make way for a growing family, and approached because of its extensive Design expertise.  

In an extensive design and development process, multiple options were considered, moving family and bedroom areas around.  To facilitate increased occupancy, two additional bathrooms were added and underneath the house was fully excavated to give the additional bedrooms and kitchenette.

Construction commenced in July 2018.  On older extension was demolished to leave the original 1930’s house remaining, and the house was lifted and retained underneath to create the spacious Rumpus Room, bedrooms and second kitchen.

Close attention to detail was required during the finishing trades to ensure both a high level of finish and that the heritage look of the house was not compromised.  The final product was over two and a half times the floor area of the original house, but retained all of the original appeal.
