The new owners of the Penthouse Unit 56 for the Grosvenor, realised they had a “diamond in the rough” with the unit's panoramic outlooks up and down the iconic Gold Coast Esplanade. Following the successful completion of the sister penthouse (unit 57), they approached Donnan with a strong desire to update the unit and open it up, to give a clean modern look.

Donnan embraced the challenging design brief and took advantage of the Penthouses location, deleting two structural columns and replacing them with steel bridging beams. This bold move dramatically transformed the old interior with a fresh open plan, taking full advantage of the 270^o views.
